SOFTBALL


    


TEE BALL
Tee Ball serves as an entry point to the game of softball. The purpose is to introduce girls to the basics of softball in a fun, low-pressure environment while focusing on fundamental skills like hitting, throwing, catching and teamwork. 


Teams: Teams are formed taking into account skill levels, geography and parental requests. If registering your child for Tee Ball, you may list one (1) teammate request. We will try our best to accommodate the request. 

Schedule: There will be one (1) practice per week and one (1) game on Saturday mornings. The season will begin in early April once the weather warms up and the fields are open to play and end by early June.  Practice and Games will run around 45 minutes to an hour in length.

FARM / A SOFTBALL
The Farm division is 100% coach pitch softball. 

Objectives:  Girls are playing to have fun as well as learn and improve their softball skills and understanding of the game. This level is designed to teach the fundamentals of the game such as playing positions, swinging a bat, throwing properly, running the bases and catching a ball.

Teams:  Teams are formed taking into account skill levels, geography and parental requests. If registering your child for Farm/Minor A division, you may list one (1) teammate request. We will try our best to accommodate your request. 

Rules: Official Little League Rules of Play are substantially modified to facilitate the games. No scores or standings are kept for this division.

Schedule: There will be a minimum of one (1) practice per week and one (1) game. Practices will start at the beginning of April and games will begin by mid-April. We will be playing neighboring towns (Hanover and possibly Parsipanny). Practices and Game Days may fluctuate based on Head Coach, field availability and weather.

AA SOFTBALL
This division is a Coach / limited Player-Pitch Division. Games will have two (2) innings of coach pitch and up to four (4) innings player pitch (may vary due to length of game).

Objectives:  Fundamentals, confidence, and introducing player pitching and game awareness.

Teams: All players will be required to participate in evaluations which usually occur mid-February. This is necessary to ensure that we have balanced teams across the division. Teams are formed by blind draft from a pool of available players, taking into account skill levels based on tryout & coach evaluations.

Rules: Official Little League Rules of Play are substantially modified to facilitate the games. No standings are kept for this division.

Schedule: There is usually one (1) weeknight game and 1 game on Saturday each week. The season will be approximately eight (8) games as well as a few division wide practices for skill development. Teams may play in an inter-league format with teams from surrounding towns such as Hanover and Parsippany. When and how many practices are completely up to the Head Coach.

AAA SOFTBALL
This division is Player / limited-Coach Pitch Division.

Objectives:  Consistency, player pitching, situational awareness, team defense.

Teams: All players will be required to participate in evaluations which usually occur mid-February. This is necessary to ensure that we have balanced teams across the division. Teams are formed by blind draft from a pool of available players, taking into account skill levels based on tryout & coach evaluations.

Rules: Official Little League Rules of Play are substantially modified to facilitate the games. There is limited base stealing. There is a continuous batting order and minimum playing times for all players. Standings are maintained, and the season culminates in playoffs.

Schedule: There is usually one (1) weeknight game and one (1) game on Saturday each week.  The season will be approximately 12 games. Teams may play in an inter-league format with teams from surrounding towns such as Hanover and Parsippany. When and how many practices are completely up to the Head Coach.

MAJOR SOFTBALL
This division is official Little League Softball and more competitive.

Objectives: Focus on refinement, strategy, and consistency.

Teams: All players will be required to participate in evaluations which usually occur mid-February. This is necessary to ensure that we have balanced teams across the division. Teams are formed by blind draft from a pool of available players, taking into account skill levels based on tryout & coach evaluations.

Rules: Regular softball rules are in play including stealing of all bases, in-field fly and drop 3rd.  There is a continuous batting order and minimum playing times for all players. However the Major Division is very competitive, parents need to consider whether their child is ready for this level of softball.

Schedule: There is usually one (1) weeknight game and one (1) game on Saturday each week.  The season will be approximately 12 games. Teams may play in an inter-league format with teams from surrounding towns such as Hanover and Parsippany. When and how many practices are completely up to the Head Coach.

JUNIOR SOFTBALL
Designed for girls softball ages 13-14 to complement middle school and/or club softball obligations. More relaxed, fun league for girls who want to play more softball with their friends.
